Nothing to be scared of

I took Luke to his first day of Pre-school today. As we drove there he said, "I'm excited and scared all at the same time." I could see that inner struggle in him while we were finding his cubby and placing his 'Luke' frog on the lily pad. After we said our good-byes, our brave little 4 year old sat at his table and quietly sang, "There is nothing to be scared of... on your first day of school." (A little song that his older brothers and sister made up and rehearsed with him). I didn't know whether to cry or laugh but I sure wanted to run up and give him another huge love and tell him how much I appreciated his bravery. I love that boy!

Besides cheering for the U.S.A., Great Britain and Australia in the Olympics, here's a peek of what else we've been up to over the last month since we arrived in the U.S.

*Celebrated the 4th and 24th of July
*Recovered from nasty colds- probably due to the long plane rides
*Shopped for school clothes and shoes-- I miss school uniforms
*Received and unpacked our Denver storage shipment after 4 years
*Doctor and dentist appointments
*Received and unpacked air shipment
*3 oldest kids started school
*Bought a new family car
*Recovering from stomach flu (moving= new bugs to fight off)
*Researching pre-schools for Luke
*Swimming
*Passed our U.S. drivers tests and got our drivers licenses
*Spending time with grandpas, grandmas and cousins
*Enjoying eating out way too much
*Grateful everyday for Todd's short commute
*Called to serve the the Primary in our new ward
*Missing Australia
*Homesick for London
*Cheering for Sara as she starts to walk--5 consecutive steps so far
*Starting an exciting family history project
*Cub scout day camp
*New badges on 2 scout shirts
*Started piano lessons
*Anxiously awaiting the arrival of our 40-foot shipping container
