Reading: 'Killing Lincoln'. Fascinating. I am learning a lot about the civil war. What a sad time in our nations history.

Listening to:  'One Direction' when Mary gets the ipod. Fireworks in the neighborhood.

Thinking about: Lasik surgery. Since I can't wear contacts much anymore, it would be so nice to be able to see when I swim or exercise.

Loving: My husband and kids more every day.

Sad about: Our kids going back to school on Thursday. Luke starting Kindergarten. Sara growing up too fast.

Thankful for: Family time. Todd is busy with work and church assignments. Michael is growing up and spending more time with friends. I find myself wanting to make the most of our time together more than ever.
A moment that made us laugh: Tonight after dinner we ate mint chocolate chip and vanilla ice cream cones. Suddenly Sara looked up from her cone and said, "Mom...pider!" She was convinced the chocolate chip was a spider. Even after I ate the chocolate chip for her, she was a bit weary. Mint chocolate chip ice cream will never be the same!

Eating: Zucchini and spaghetti squash.

Wondering: If we should cut back the zucchini and spaghetti squash plants before they overtake our yard.

Working on: Being more patient so I can potty train Sara.

Summer happenings

Michael's new bike.

 We bought a Blendtec. I am so delighted to see my kids drink spinach for breakfast!

 Celebrating grandpa's birthday with cousins.

 Celebrating great-grandma's birthday with cousins. We love being near cousins again!

Free Slurpee day at 7-eleven on 7-eleven. It was worth the wait!

Independence Day

We spent the day fishing at Mirror Lake with Grandpa and Grandma.

Michael and Benjamin both caught a fish. Sweet!

In the evening we did sparklers and watched fireworks with our neighbors. Mary loved the sparklers but wasn't fond of the loud fireworks. She cuddled up on my lap to watch the show.

Gale Center

The Gale center is a great museum in South Jordan. The kids and I have visited a couple of times and each time we were the only visitors, so we received special privileges. The guide let our kids 'ride' in a real stagecoach from the late 1800's. We learned where riding 'shotgun' came from.

 We learned about farming in the early days of South Jordan.

 And finally, Mary prepared a 'fish dinner' in the farmhouse. It was educational and fun.
